Job summary

Swire Coca-Cola in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Line Shift Lead to join a high-performing team focused on World Class Manufacturing. You will guide shift direction, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate line activities with other leaders to minimize losses.

The role emphasizes coaching, staff allocation, and adherence to daily management systems, with responsibilities spanning safety, quality, and production attainment. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) required.
• 2+ years working as production/machine operator required.
• Experience in high-speed food manufacturing and / or working knowledge of bottling operations preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial technology. Food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to perform essential functions with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensure their shift team complies with the company safety and quality procedures.
• Coach, train and develop the shift team; work with the line team to determine root causes and solve line losses.
• Own the Line shift DDS process; ensure robust plan for planned stops with clearly defined roles.
• Team development: train and coach the team; align training needs with skill profiles.
• Coordinate staffing across the shift and escalate critical issues per procedure.
• Know plant standards around safety, break-time, quality, vacation scheduling, overtime management.
• Provide constructive feedback and reward solid behaviors.
• Build own technical skills and help set priorities for reliability and loss reduction.
• Ensure all shift documentation, SOP processes and orders are completed per standard.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What does a Line Shift Lead do at Swire Coca-Cola?

Part of a high performing team that is engaged and committed to World Class Manufacturing performance, ensuring that the safety of our people always comes first, while building a line culture of continuous improvement with a focus on zero operational defects and losses. The incumbent, in conjunction with the other team functional leaders, has shift accountability of the manufacturing line results including safety, quality, reliability, production attainment, productivity, and costs. This includes settingand leading shiftdaily directionsetting, planned stops andaction plans to attack and reduce losses. An effectiveLine Shift Leadersets high expectations and standards, coaches, holds the team to these standards and ensures that every person on the team understands the results expected. Owns equipment and DMS (Daily Management Systems). Receives and gives coaching. The Line Shift Leader ensures that every person on the team understands thefeedback from the DDS (Daily Direction Setting), theresults from the previous shift and theresults expectedfor their shift. Confirms theproductionsequence and change overplan for theirshift andallocates staff to their workstation and the planned stop during the shift.

• Work withotherLine Shift leaders to resolve staffing issues or coordinate staffing across the shift,follow escalation process for any areas thatare identified as critical. For example,seriousissues regardingsafety,quality,or breakdowns

• Provide constructive feedback andrewards,role modelsolid behaviors in these areas
• Build own technical skills and help theManufacturing Line Manager andTechnical Specialists setpriorities to maximize processreliability/uptime resultsand loss reduction
