Job summary

Diamond Pet Company is seeking a dependable Line Puller to operate material handling equipment and support accurate processing and shipping in our Indiana facility. You will receive, stage, locate, pick, relocate and stack products, while maintaining GMP and SOP compliance and ensuring inventory accuracy.

Work is indoors near loud equipment; you will use IFS scanners, fill weight tickets, and maintain an orderly workspace.

Qualifications

  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds routinely. (Up to 50% of shift)
  • Must be able to climb a ladder/stairs to access equipment. (Up to 10% of shift)
  • Must be able to operate a forklift. (Routinely up to 100% of shift)
  • Must be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, grasp, squat, reach, and crawl. (Combined up to 30% of shift)
  • Must be willing to/have availability to work any shift (day or night shift)
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively communicate in a professional manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (communication, listening, team player, cooperative, approachable).

Responsibilities

  • Accurately receive into inventory and store away in proper location.
  • Understand and perform warehousing procedures for domestic, foreign, and key account production.
  • Operate IFS scanners and fill inventory reconciliation sheets, weight tickets, etc.
  • Ensure that only correct, damage-free product is warehoused.
  • Maintain a First-In-First-Out finished product inventory management system.
  • Ensure proper tags and codes to help manage traceability.
  • Stage skids of bags for packaging and store.
  • Perform daily inspections on forklift equipment.
  • Maintain an orderly workspace, including sweeping up debris.
  • Report and repair damaged product immediately.
  • Operate a forklift to move material on the premises safely.
  • Perform and comply with all SOPs.
  • Communicate production status to oncoming shift personnel.
  • Maintain communication with maintenance on major machine issues.
  • Maintain GMP in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform all functions in accordance with safety practices and procedures.
  • Report safety violations and hazards to Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Be an employee champion with integrity and teamwork.

Job description

The Line Puller is responsible for operation of material handling equipment for the purpose of accurate processing and shipping, which includes but not limited to, scanning, moving, staging, locating, picking, relocating, and stacking products. Accountable for personal safety, behavior, and performance. Participate in a full facility and equipment clean up as directed.

Work is primarily performed indoors near operating equipment and loud noise such as forklift horns and loose particles may be present. Works is performed in hot and cold environment. Work performed in this job requires employees to wear bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses always.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • As directed and trained, perform the duties and functions of a line puller by accurately receiving it into inventory and storing it away in the proper location.
  • Understand and perform various warehousing procedures for domestic, foreign, and key account production.
  • Understand and perform all protocols for using/operating IFS scanners, filling inventory reconciliation sheets, weight tickets, etc.
  • ENSURE that only correct, damage-free product is warehoused.
  • Maintain a First-In-First-Out finished product, inventory management system.
  • Ensure proper tags and codes to help manage traceability.
  • Stage skids of bags for packaging and store.
  • Perform daily inspections on forklift equipment.
  • Maintain an orderly workspace, including sweeping up debris.
  • Report and repair damaged product immediately.
  • Operate a forklift to move material on the premises in a safe professional manner.
  • Perform and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Communicate production status to oncoming shift personnel.
  • Maintain communication with maintenance personnel on major machine issues.
  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform all functions in accordance with sound safety practices and procedures.
  • Report all safety violations and safety hazards to Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Be an employee champion who will maintain a strong and positive working relationship with all employees with the utmost integrity, confidentiality, and ethical values.
Additional Job Functions:
