Job summary

United Airlines is seeking a Line Planner to lead and assure compliance of planned maintenance requirements, coordinate recovery and routine maintenance, and optimize aircraft routing for planned events.

The role requires 3 years in aircraft maintenance, strong knowledge of AMMs/IPCs, and the ability to work a flexible 24/7 schedule with up to 10% travel. Apply to join a team focused on safety, reliability and world-wide service.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or education equivalent.
  • 3 years in the aircraft maintenance industry.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work any shift in a 24 hour/7 day a week operation including weekends, nights and holidays.
  • Up to 10% travel.
  • Strong background and knowledge of aircraft and engine maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of how to read and interpret Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs and Engineering documents.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and computer skills.
  • Ability to multitask and be detail oriented.
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to constant change.
  • Ability to successfully work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without FAA Airframe and Power Plant License sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and ensures the timely compliance of all planned maintenance requirements regulated by the maintenance programs
  • Recovery, support and management of deferred and routine maintenance including; station capabilities, workforce, facility, materials and tooling availability to accomplish planned events
  • Provide recommendations and direction to aircraft routing and operations for planned maintenance opportunities
  • Key collaborator in the coordination and planning for out of service aircraft and line hold work package plans
  • Provides workload prioritization guidance to maintenance
  • Access and use maintenance manuals and IPCs
  • Review databases of both line and base maintenance capabilities and workforce availability to accurately plan and schedule work assignments
  • Assure the company’s goals for safety, security and quality are met by continual compliance with the company Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting through the appropriate process any non-compliance observations
  • Support and uphold United’s metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
  • Monitor any inconsistencies and adjust to improve overall fleet efficiencies

Line Planner

At United, we have some of the best aircraft in the world. Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they're well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations.


The line planner will lead and be assure the compliance of all planned maintenance requirements regulated by the maintenance programs. This person will also be responsible for recovery, support and coordination of deferred and routine maintenance including; station capability, workforce, facility, materials and tooling availability to accomplish planned events while providing oversight and direction to aircraft routing and operations for planned maintenance opportunities.

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • 2 years of maintenance planning experience

  • 2 years in an aircraft maintenance management role

  • Working knowledge of Maintenance Programs and aircraft routing


The starting rate for this role is $33.27.


This is also a bonus eligible position (i.e. profit sharing).
