Job summary

  • Make minor adjustments to guide rails based on product specs.
  • Ensure bottling and packaging meet quality standards for shipment.
  • Follow production schedule as required.
  • Operate safely with required PPE and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Provide prompt communication about plant issues to QA, engineering, or maintenance teams.

Job description

Reporting directly to the shift supervisor, the Line Operator 1 will ensure continuous and effective bottle loading practices in the front and back of the line to ensure maximum operation and will provide additional operational line support as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
  • High School diploma or GED or earning within a designated period of time following date of hire.
Kind & Length of Experience:
  • At least 2 years of continuous work history with 1 company required.
  • Mechanical/manufacturing experience preferred.
Essential Functions:
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds
  • Frequently lift up to 40 lbs to work with equipment and product
  • Frequently perform repetitive reaching, grasping and lifting of product, materials and boxes weighing up to 40lbs
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequently required to understand and follow verbal communication
  • Frequently required to provide clear written communication
  • Wear personal safety equipment as required
  • Utilize cognitive abilities to effectively communicate with internal customers to understand requests
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Frequently stand, walk, squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head, bend or twist the neck and trunk.
PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS
  • Ability to effectively feed product and material to conveyors, hoppers, and other production line equipment
  • Inspect product for malfunctions or quality errors; report all to supervisory and/or management
  • Make minor adjustments to guide rails based upon product specifications
  • Ensure all bottling and packaging meets quality standards while packing product for shipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform light janitorial duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Effectively follow Quality Assurance procedures and documentation practices
  • Positively interact with co-workers in a manner that ensures good work flow and organization
  • Follow production schedule as required
  • Support efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care 14001 (RC14001)/Environment, Health, Safety, & Sustainability (EHS&S) management system
  • Conform with the EHS&S Policy and the Cardinal Rules
  • Maintain a safe and secure workplace and meet environmental site requirements
  • Support the EHS&S objectives and targets, and any specific action plans or management programs assigned
  • Understand the EHS&S risks and impacts of the employee’s job and functional area, including appropriate controls and procedures
  • Understand the EHS&S impacts/consequence that could result if specified procedures are not followed
  • Report accidents and incidents to a supervisor or the EHS&S department
  • Participate in required EHS&S training
  • Other duties as requested.
  • Provide prompt communication about plant issues to QA, engineering and or maintenance teams to help drive continuous improvement.
