Job summary

CREMER North America, LP is seeking a Material Handler/Line Supply 1 to support the production line by continuously retrieving material and staging it at designated locations along the line to prevent downtime.

The role requires operating stand-up forklifts with certification, RF scanners, and pallet jacks, lifting up to 50 pounds, and communicating clearly with QA, engineering, and maintenance to sustain safe, efficient production.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or within designated period after hire.
  • Stand-up forklift certification required; in-house training provided.
  • Mechanical/manufacturing experience preferred; forklift experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Supply production line with materials in a timely fashion.
  • Operate stand-up forklift, RF scanners, pallet jacks and other warehousing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate product and material inventory using RF scanners.
  • Provide clear verbal and written communication to internal customers.
  • Follow safety policies and contribute to continuous improvement.

Job description

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Material Handler/Line Supply 1 is responsible for supporting the production line through continuous retrieving of material and staging necessary material at designated locations along the production line to ensure that production is not halted due to lack of material through the safe and effective use of various warehouse equipment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
  • High School diploma or GED or earning within a designated period of time following date of hire.
  • Position-specific vocational education/experience, training, or certification is preferred
  • Valid stand-up forklift certification is required; in house training will be provided prior to start.
Kind & Length of Experience:
  • Mechanical/manufacturing experience preferred
  • 1 or more years of stand-up forklift experience is required.
Essential Functions:
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds
  • Frequently lift up to 40 lbs to work with equipment and product
  • Frequently performs repetitive reaching, grasping and lifting of product, materials and boxes weighing up to 40lbs
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequently required to understand and follow verbal communication
  • Frequently required to provide clear written communication
  • Wear personal safety equipment as required
  • Utilize cognitive abilities to effectively communicate with internal customers to understand requests
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Frequently stand, walk, squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head, bend or twist the neck and trunk.
  • Provide prompt communication about plant issues to QA, engineering and or maintenance teams to help drive continuous improvement.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS
  • Ensure materials are supplied to the production line in a timely fashion
  • Little to no waiting period for materials
  • Read production and delivery schedules and stacking patterns to determine sorting, transfer, and arrangement of packages and correct destination of loaded pallets
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal error, while maintaining a safety-first mentality
  • Deliver or route materials to departments using stand up forklifts, RF Scanners, pallet jacks, and other warehousing equipment
  • Maintain accurate product and material inventory through proper use of RF Scanner and inventory control procedures
  • Ability to successfully work both ends of the production line efficiently
  • Keep record of equipment performance and report any issues to the necessary parties
  • Accurate completion of quality checks and adherence to quality assurance guidelines
  • Minimal quality errors
  • High attention to detail required
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with little guidance required
  • Must have basic skills using computer software and RF Scanners
  • Support efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care 14001 (RC14001)/Environment, Health, Safety, & Sustainability (EHS&S) management system
  • Conform with the EHS&S Policy and the Cardinal Rules
  • Maintain a safe and secure workplace and meet environmental site requirements
  • Support the EHS&S objectives and targets, and any specific action plans or management programs assigned
  • Understand the EHS&S risks and impacts of the employee’s job and functional area, including appropriate controls and procedures
  • Understand the EHS&S impacts/consequence that could result if specified procedures are not followed
  • Report accidents and incidents to a supervisor or the EHS&S department
  • Participate in required EHS&S training
  • Other duties as requested.
