Job summary

Nestlé USA in Schaumburg, IL seeks a Line Operator 3 - Palletizer to stack finished product cartons on pallets and support safe, efficient line operations. You will follow SOPs, monitor packaging quality, assist with labor and materials planning, and maintain accurate production records while contributing to continuous improvement and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED, preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience, especially food manufacturing.
  • Minimum 1 year production experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or related.
  • Ability to read, write, speak English per safety processes.

Responsibilities

  • Stack cartons or finished products on pallets according to packing specs.
  • Observe packages on conveyor to detect defects and stop when needed.
  • Maintain pallet wrappers, and prepare pallets for storage.
  • Record production and equipment performance data.
  • Follow SOPs and GMPs and maintain a safe, clean work area.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Line Operator 3 is responsible for stacking containers or cartons of finished products on pallets. This position works collaboratively to achieve Nestlé business objectives of safety, productivity, customer service, quality, and environmental protection.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
  • Reads stacking configuration from packing specifications to determine arrangement of cases on pallet.
  • Sets up code date information for product.
  • Observes packages moving along conveyor to identify and detect defective packaging.
  • Stacks specified configuration of cartons or containers on pallet and moves pallet to the pallet wrapper.
  • Wraps and creates a tag for the pallet for storage.
  • Supplies line with packaging materials.
  • Stops equipment to clear jams and informs the Packaging Lead or Supervisor of equipment malfunction.
  • Keeps record of production and equipment performance.
  • Creates a queue table to verify that the barcodes that were generated correspond with tally sheet. Notifies the Lead or Supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.
  • Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed.
  • Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place.
  • Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
  • Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
  • Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.
  • Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Champion a safe work environment by proactively identifying and reporting potential hazards. Gain valuable experience in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), enhancing your skills in quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Contribute continuous improvement ideas and suggestions to improve operational efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Drive sustainability by promoting resource efficiency and actively participating in recycling and pollution prevention initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

Pay rate is $21.59/hour with an additional shift premium for 2nd shift of $0.75/hour and 3rd shift of $1.25/hour.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • Ability to work overtime, irregular hours, or rotating shifts, required.
  • High School Diploma/GED, preferred.
  • Manufacturing or related experience preferred especially within food manufacturing.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a production capacity such as manufacturing, agriculture, warehouse, industrial, military or related environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in accordance with safety and quality processes.

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $21.59. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
