Position: LINE HELPER DRIVER – CPP (OPEN)

Salary:

$24.21 per hour, as established by City Ordinance.

Examination Information:

Experience evaluation based on academic training and experience relevant to the position, as recorded on the application.

Duties:

Under supervision, drives trucks for installation and maintenance of electric lines, assists linemen, and performs related tasks such as operating trucks, assisting in installation and repair of lines and equipment, and helping with pole and line work.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Ohio Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License
• Ability to lift and carry at least 75 pounds

Qualifications must be met by the last day of the application period.

Residency Credit:

Applicants with at least one year of primary residence in Cleveland at the time of application may receive 10 extra points on their passing score, upon submitting a notarized Residency Affidavit available here.

Veterans’ Preference:

Eligible veterans may receive additional points, with proof of active service or DD Form 214 required at the time of application. Discharge documentation must be official and include dates of service.
