  • Follow designated routes, fuel locations, relay procedures, and terminal check-in requirements.
  • Coordinate trailer exchanges and relay handoffs with dispatch and other drivers.
  • Provide timely arrival, departure, drop, hook, delay, and equipment-status updates.
  • Immediately report traffic delays, adverse weather, accidents, freight discrepancies, mechanical problems, or hours-of-service limitations.
  • Protect freight from damage, loss, contamination, theft, and unauthorized access.
  • Comply with all FMCSA, DOT, and company safety policies and operating procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, terminal personnel, other drivers, and management.
  • Maintain tractor cleanliness and leave trailers and related equipment in acceptable condition.
  • Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate ELD systems and follow routing and dispatch instructions.
  • Line-haul, relay, terminal-to-terminal, overnight-route, or drop-and-hook experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely couple, uncouple, inspect, and operate single-trailer and combination equipment.
  • Ability to read and verify manifests, bills of lading, placards, trailer numbers, seals, and shipping documents.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, professional, and capable of maintaining a dependable route schedule.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to climb, bend, reach, push, pull, and secure loads or equipment when required.
