Job summary

J & J Trucking, Inc. is hiring a professional CDL-A Line-Haul Driver to transport freight between terminals, customer locations, and relay points. The role involves night, weekend, and holiday driving on established routes, with emphasis on safety, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with FMCSA and company policies.

The driver will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, manage logs, and coordinate with dispatch, while maintaining reliable on-time service and proper equipment handling.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license.
• Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles and Triples endorsements required.
• Current DOT Medical Certificate.
• Minimum two years of verifiable commercial driving experience and at least 24 years of age.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service, and safe driving practices.
• Ability to operate ELD systems and follow routing and dispatch instructions.
• Line-haul/relay/terminal-to-terminal or drop-and-hook experience preferred.
• Ability to read and verify manifests, bills of lading, placards, trailer numbers, seals, and shipping documents.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional with dependable route schedules.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A vehicle safely on line-haul routes.
• Transport freight between terminals, customer facilities, drop yards, and relay points.
• Report for scheduled dispatches on time.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections.
• Conduct drop-and-hook operations with possible live loading/unloading.
• Couple/uncouple tractors and trailers; inspect equipment.
• Maintain accurate logs, bills of lading, and delivery paperwork.
• Follow designated routes and relay procedures with dispatch coordination.
• Provide timely updates on arrivals, delays, and equipment status.
• Ensure freight protection against damage and loss.
