Job summary

Fisher Island Club seeks a full-time Cook 1 to plan, prep, set up and provide quality service across all kitchen sections. You will follow recipes, maintain station organization, and support Sous and Chef de Cuisine to meet high standards.

The role requires standing for long periods, strong English communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. Competitive wages and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.
• 3 years’ experience in the culinary field.
• Ability to communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management.
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
• Must pass with satisfactory results, a cooking demo for the chef.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Always have a notebook to write recipes, procedures, and prep lists with.
• Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with other employees.
• Clearly communicate using professional language.
• Daily communication with Sous Chef(s) and Chef de Cuisine.
• Daily communications with stewards to ensure sanitary standards.
• Give and log daily, weekly, and monthly projects to the stewards for areas of concern.
• Keep par items ordered for dry storage and produce walk-in.
