Macy's in Minnesota is seeking a Line Cook to prepare hot and cold foods to order, following company standards. Full-time schedules typically 30+ hours per week with weekend shifts; hours vary by business needs.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years direct experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.

• Produce and present food products, cooked to order by following recipes to the letter or build sheets according to company standards.
• Put away stock according to standards.
• Follow food safety standards and maintain work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
• Educate, sample, and serve customers food products.
• Effectively deal with multiple customers and communicate customer requests or concerns to other associates and manager on duty.
• Follow station specific duties and responsibilities.
• Open and close area following appropriate checklist, verifying completion with Manager on Duty prior to leaving the area.
• Follow production guides, maintain stock levels and standards in product presentation.
• Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress code to comply with company and Health Department standards.
• Assist other associates to ensure all kitchen duties are completed and customer service standards are maintained.
• Maintain a safe work area.
• Assist with special events.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Job Summary

The Line Cook's primary responsibility is to prepare hot and cold food for customers' consumption according to company and Health Department standards. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled for 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are scheduled for 12‑24 hours per week. All schedules contain weekend shifts. Hours are dependent on business needs and colleague availability.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department.
• May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling and stooping.
• Position may require working in a warm kitchen environment.
• Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.
