WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

  1. Organize and prioritize the preparation of food items.
  2. Prepare food according to standardized recipes.
  3. Ensure proper size and weight of food portions.
  4. Coordinate food preparation with other kitchen staff.
  5. Maintain atmosphere control by circulating through the work area during shifts.
  6. Follow standard recipes for presentation of food items.
  7. Prepare plate presentation according to standard recipes.
  8. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and walk-in cooler.
  9. Ensure the kitchen area, including grill, oven, stoves, etc., remains clean and hazard-free during shifts.
  10. Keep floors clean and free of food, trash, or obstacles.
  11. Maintain House of Blues safety and sanitation standards.
  12. Prepare kitchen equipment and set up stations for shifts.
  13. Ensure proper rotation of all food items, including lifting/moving up to 180 lbs.
  14. Perform opening and closing duties.
  15. Maintain sanitation and safety compliance.
  16. Display a positive attitude and teamwork.
  17. Adhere to all House of Blues policies.
  18. Assist other kitchen areas as needed.

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Required:

  1. Knowledge of high-volume kitchen operations.
  2. Ability to inspect food spoilage and ensure proper rotation.
  3. Expediting knowledge.
  4. Skills in the use of all kitchen equipment.
  5. Ability to follow standardized recipes and plate presentation standards.
  6. Ability to maintain pace in a high-volume kitchen.
  7. Proper sanitation knowledge.
  8. Understanding of kitchen and restaurant operations.
  9. High School Diploma.
  10. COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position, subject to legally valid exemptions.

Physical Demands / Working Environment :

  • Fast-paced working environment.
  • Extended periods of standing and working on your feet.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 150 lbs.
