Job description

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Line Cook for The Farnam, Autograph Collection, in Omaha, NE.

Job Purpose :

Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. Provide warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance to reassure guests they’ve made the right choice to stay with us.

Responsibilities :
  1. Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and guest check specifications.
  2. Follow company and brand standards to ensure product consistency and high guest satisfaction.
  3. Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items.
  4. Visually inspect, select, and use only high-standard food items for all menu preparations.
  5. Ensure proper storage of products and control portions to maintain quality.
  6. Maintain cleanliness of refrigeration, equipment, storage, and work areas to comply with health regulations.
  7. Adhere to sanitation standards and operate all kitchen equipment safely.
  8. Report maintenance issues promptly.
  9. Receive and store food and other deliveries properly.
  10. Coordinate daily with kitchen management and related departments.
  11. Participate in long-range planning and ongoing hotel programs.
  12. Conduct physical inventories.
  13. Engage with guests professionally and courteously, addressing concerns proactively.
  14. Follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures and safety/security policies.
  15. Assist other departments in emergencies and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with Marriott standards preferred but not required.
Physical and Language Requirements :
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand workplace language(s).
  • Good communication skills, basic math, and ability to follow recipes.
  • Physical ability to handle kitchen tools, lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in extreme temperatures.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for food preparation and safety.
