Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking a kitchen team member to support meal preparation and station upkeep in a fast-paced casino setting.

You will follow daily instructions, prepare items per recipes, and maintain a clean, sanitary work area while providing courteous guest service. A license with PA authorities and non-gaming credentialing are required for events on the casino floor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and manuals.
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be able to identify problems, collect data, analyze, and draw valid conclusions.
• Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions (written, verbal, etc.).
• Must qualify for a license with the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission and meet credentialing requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
• Working events on the casino floor require a non-gaming credential.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, expedites, monitors, replenishes, and/or transports meats, vegetables, soups, sauces and other food items as indicated by production sheets.
• Reports to Sous Chef at start of shift to receive instructions as daily specials or menu changes.
• Arranges mise en place according to posted instructions and menu requirements.
• Communicates station needs, waste and discrepancies with immediate supervisor.
• As directed by supervisor, prepares and presents menu items according to recipe specification and presentation photos.
• Assists in other areas of kitchen as directed by Sous Chef.
• Interacts with guests and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
