Job summary

A leading entertainment company seeks a Cook responsible for preparing, expediting, and presenting menu items in a high-volume environment. This role requires adherence to recipes, communication with supervisors about daily specials, and collaboration with kitchen staff. Qualifications

  • Experience in a kitchen environment (1-2 years preferred).
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from guests.
  • Must qualify for a license with the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present menu items according to specifications.
  • Report to Sous Chef and follow daily instructions.
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Job description

WE LOVE OUR WORK.
  • Prepares, expedites, monitors, replenishes, and transports meats, vegetables, soups, sauces, and other food items as indicated by production sheets.
  • Reports to Sous Chef at the start of each shift to receive instructions regarding daily specials or menu changes.
  • Arranges mise en place according to posted instructions and menu requirements.
  • Communicates station needs, waste, and discrepancies with the immediate supervisor.
  • Prepares and presents menu items according to recipe specifications and presentation photos, as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assists in other areas of the kitchen as directed by the Sous Chef.
  • Interacts with guests and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • One to two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests; ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and manuals.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, analyze, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions (written, verbal, etc.).
  • Must qualify for a license with the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission and meet any credentialing requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
  • Working events on the casino floor will require obtaining a non-gaming credential.
