Job summary

Covenant Living is seeking an experienced Line Cook to accurately prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold items for meals and special events in a senior living healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include following standardized recipes, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring timely, high-quality food service for residents while adhering to safety guidelines and federal/state regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Current Food Handler’s Permit required.
• ServSafe training beneficial.
• State sanitation certificate.
• 3–4 years of related cooking experience.
• Intermediate to advanced knife experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks to order foods with short to mid-level prep time.
• May operate a grill station and serve guests at a la carte service.
• Prepare food according to federal, state, and corporate standards for high-quality service.
• Reads orders and prepares foods with proper production planning and equipment use.
• Ensure highest quality and comply with safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow recipes and product directions for soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts.
• Handle inventory, prep sheets, and portioning for special diets.
• Maintain clean, sanitized workstations and equipment; attend safety training.
