Job summary

Summerfield Retirement Community in Slidell, LA is seeking a Line Cook/Prep Cook for the dietary department to prepare meals according to prescribed recipes and menus while maintaining high sanitary standards.

You will join a team serving our senior residents, with various shifts available. Requirements include cooking experience, reliability, good communication, and physical stamina; background check and drug screen are required. Pay starts at $15 per hour.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience as a cook is required.
• Customer service experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines is expected.
• Ability to operate cookware, bakeware and cooking appliances.
• Must be friendly with good communication and stamina.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to menu cycles with attention to cleanliness and order.
• Provide meals at designated times for residents.
• Clean food stations and wash cooking vessels and utensils.
• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory.
