Line Cook/Prep Cook (Summerfield of Gulfport)

Summerfield of Gulfport, a retirement community, is looking to hire friendly cooks for our dietary department. You will prepare appetizing meals by following prescribed recipes and menus, while adhering to all safety and health standards to ensure good sanitary conditions in cooking and dining premises. Prior experience is required. You must be competent and conscientious with a customer-oriented approach. The goal is to provide excellent food services by following instructions and standards.

We will be interviewing qualified candidates who will be serving our senior residents, so a serving heart is required! Various shifts available.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals according to menu cycles with attention to cleanliness and order
  • Able to prepare and provide meals to be served at designated times
  • Clean food stations and wash cooking vessels and utensils
  • Stock ingredients and monitor inventory
  • Help maintain kitchen equipment and appliances

Skills

  • Proven experience as cook
  • Further experience in customer service will be appreciated
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
  • Aptitude in operating cookware, bakeware and cooking appliances
  • Friendly with good communication skills
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a requirement.

Pay Rate: $15 Hourly

This is a non-management position. This is a full-time position. Pay Range: $13-15 per hour.
