Position Summary

The Line Cook works both independently and collaboratively with kitchen management to facilitate the production of menu items. The hourly wage is between $20.00 and $24.00.

About The Venue

Peak is a premium restaurant located on the 101st floor of 30 Hudson Yards, offering panoramic views and situated above Edge, the highest outdoor observation deck in the city. It is a luxurious destination with breathtaking views of lower New York City.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Culinary Management team with food preparation and station setup.
• Maintain knowledge of standard menu items and proper food storage.
• Ensure stations are prepped and ready for service.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Keep work environment clean and organized, including floors and storage areas.
• Perform cleaning duties as assigned, adhering to health standards.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Assist with prep cooking and special events as needed.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience as a prep or line cook in a high-volume, fast-paced NYC kitchen or similar environment.
• Professional work ethic with effective communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Excellent knife skills and detailed cooking proficiency.
• Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.
• Knowledge of health and sanitation standards.
• Physical ability to lift, pull, push, carry up to 30 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
