Base pay range

$26.00/hr - $26.00/hr

Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing foods to be served to guests throughout the venue. Responsibilities include working in areas such as buffet lines, slicing meats, or preparing dishes to order. The role requires excellent attendance and availability to work scheduled events.

This position offers an hourly rate of $26.00-$28.00 and is tip eligible. Benefits include a 401(k) Savings Plan and matching.

About The Venue

The Seattle Aquarium is committed to ocean conservation and education, hosting over 27 million visitors since opening. The upcoming Ocean Pavilion will enhance its offerings and is set to open in 2024.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner.
  • Prepare hot and cold foods following recipes and portioning standards.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure excellent service and product delivery.
  • Report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards.
  • Test foods for proper cooking.
  • Portion, arrange, and garnish plates for delivery.
  • Coordinate with culinary leadership on menus and food consumption estimates.
  • Maintain excellent attendance standards.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a cook or prep cook.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment including broilers, steamers, ovens, mixers, slicers, and knives.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Valid food handling certificate required; ServSafe preferred.
