Job Overview

Line Cooks are responsible for ensuring the quality preparation of all menu items and proper handling/storage of all food items. The preparation occurs under the supervision of the Sous Chef and Executive Chef.

Sous Chef

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present food in various stations of a large kitchen: pantry, sauté, grill
  • Follow standardized recipes and ensure consistency according to guest specifications
  • Participate in cleaning kitchen areas and equipment
  • Assist with proper storage, preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items
  • Help prepare food in advance of service hours
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including safe handling of food, knife safety, and proper use of kitchen equipment
Qualifications
  • Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Punctuality and reliable attendance
  • Good interpersonal skills to work well with co-workers and the public
  • Ability to communicate verbally and read instructions in English
  • Experience with various cooking methods such as sautéing, braising, frying, poaching, roasting
  • Previous kitchen experience required
  • Ability to work in a clean, organized manner following safe food handling practices
  • Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment
  • Active Food Handler certificate preferred
