Description

Line Cook Primary Job Duties:

  1. Knowledge on how to prepare a variety of meats, poultry, vegetables and other food items using standard recipes
  2. Complies with all company standard methods of cooking, portion sizes, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures
  3. Knowledge on how to properly use broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment
  4. Maintains a clean and sanitary work station and area
  5. Ensures that only food items approved by management are being prepared
  6. Assists in food preparation assignments during off peak periods or as needed
  7. Understands and practices the “FIFO” method
  8. Follows all company standard operating procedures
  9. Maintains uniform standards and presents a professional appearance at all times

Line Cook Physical Requirements:

  1. Standing for long periods of time with frequent bending and turning
  2. Must be able to lift 40 lbs
  3. Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  4. Ability to withstand extreme hot/cold temperatures

Line Cook Special Requirements:

  1. Must be at least 18 years old
  2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  3. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  4. Must possess a valid Food Handler’s Certificate or other similar license per local code
