Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets is seeking a Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You’ll help create menu items and ensure guests are presented with meals they can’t receive elsewhere, while continuing to learn, grow, and fuel your passion for food.

You’ll work in a fast-paced, open kitchen, handling prep, following recipes, knife skills, and cooking techniques to deliver consistent ingredients and finished dishes. Availability includes afternoons and evenings (including weekends).

Qualifications

• 1+ years' experience as a line cook.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, open kitchen.
• Experience in a fine dining or upscale establishment is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient knife skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and execute recipes to deliver high-quality meals.
• Assist culinary team and maintain timely service.
• Follow established recipes, knife skills, and cooking techniques.
• Balance prep tasks while ensuring meals are prepared promptly and to standard.
• Comply with health codes and regulations.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure incredible service is provided by effectively handling a variety of tasks
• Preparing ingredients to be used by the culinary team as well as creating high quality meals
• Follow proper recipes, knife skills and cooking techniques to provide consistent ingredients and finished products
• Balance prep work while ensuring guests meals are prepared in a timely manner while maintaining high standards
• Comply with applicable State Restaurant Health Codes and Regulations
