What You'll Do
  • Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience.
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
  • Test foods to ensure proper cooking using tasting, smelling, or piercing methods.
  • Label and date all products for rotation, safekeeping, and sanitation.
  • Ensure food quality and take corrective actions if needed.
  • Present food attractively to maximize appeal and freshness.
  • Maintain knowledge of production processes with attention to taste and quality.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two-year certificate from an accredited culinary program or at least 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen.
  • Ability to obtain a Class III B gaming license.
Additional Requirements
  • Availability to work various shifts, including holidays, weekends, and nights.
  • Physical ability to maneuver in all casino areas, lift at least 25 lbs, and perform tasks involving standing, walking, reaching, and stooping.
  • Exposure to environmental tobacco smoke while working.
