Job Summary:

[Kissho House] is seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook with experience or a strong interest in Japanese cuisine, robatayaki (Japanese charcoal grill). As part of our kitchen team, you will prepare high-quality dishes with precision, uphold traditional techniques, and ensure smooth execution during service. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Japanese culinary culture and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items including, Pickling, Fry, steaming, sauce, pastry, grilled, and other.
  • Assist chefs with prep work, knife work, rice handling, and fish/meat butchery (training available if needed)
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Follow traditional Japanese cooking techniques and presentation standards
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes and quality guidelines
  • Set up and maintain a clean and organized station with all necessary ingredients and tools
  • Follow proper food safety and hygiene practices at all times
  • Communicate with the kitchen team to ensure accurate and timely service
  • Assist with daily prep, cleaning, and closing duties

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or with Japanese cooking techniques is preferred.
  • Strong knife skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to traditional and modern Japanese culinary methods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen with attention to detail
  • Team player with strong communication and time management skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • preferred skills: Previous experience in a Japanese restaurant or with Japanese cooking techniques .
  • charcoal grill/ Yakitori experience is preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
