Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Line Cook is to prepare ingredients and stations used in cooking, maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, and assist team members as needed. All duties are performed in accordance with company policies and health standards.

Training & Certification Requirements:
Line Cook 1:
  • Completes daily prep assignments
  • Prepares salads
  • Ports desserts
  • Maintains cleanliness of line and prep areas
Line Cook 2:
  • Meets all requirements for Line Cook 1
  • Prepares and cooks fried foods
  • Operates broiler and oven as needed
Line Cook 3:
  • Meets all requirements for Line Cook 2
  • Prepares, seasons, and cooks entrees, especially meat, poultry, and seafood
  • Assists in cutting meat following standards
  • Oversees sauteing and grilling stations
Essential Functions and Skills:
  • Reports on time and is ready at the prep station
  • Prepares food according to recipes, standards, and presentation
  • Preps vegetables, plates salads and desserts, and ensures quality standards
  • Prepares equipment, ingredients, and supplies, reporting issues promptly
  • Rotates and restocks pantry items and supplies
  • Checks stock levels before shifts and maintains par levels
  • Assists in food prep and side work
  • Coordinates with food runners for timely service
  • Completes closing duties and maintains cleanliness
  • Maintains sanitation, safety, and personal hygiene standards
  • Adheres to safety guidelines and reports unsafe conditions
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures, lift at least 50 pounds, and stand for long periods
  • Maintain good grooming and hygiene
  • Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
