Description

Youth For Tomorrow is a 501(c)(3) faith-based, non-profit organization founded in 1986 by Hall of Fame Football Coach Joe Gibbs. The organization is large, diverse, experienced, and committed to serving at-risk youth.

Position Summary
  • Food preparation includes meal prep, serving residents and staff, replenishing the soup and salad bar, and maintaining the service line with items like milk and fruits. Prepare breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner based on shift.
  • Assist with maintaining dry storage and refrigerator/freezer stock, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Mark all foods with expiration dates, shelf life, or received dates.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas according to health standards. Participate in daily and weekly deep cleaning tasks.
  • Take out trash and recycling during meals and food deliveries.
  • Assist with receiving, sorting, and storing food orders for the school and homes.
  • Organize food orders for pickup as requested.
  • Follow regulations for safe food storage, handling, preparation, and serving.
  • Be aware of students' allergies and offer alternatives as needed, keeping information current.
  • Clean tables, sanitize, and remove trash between lunch schedules.
  • Provide meals for special events and meetings.
  • Complete all required YFT training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Minimum 21 years old, per regulation.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. (proof required).
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prepare and serve meals and maintain a clean kitchen.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred for appropriate communication.
  • Additional hours may be required for events.

Note: Criminal background checks including FBI, Child Abuse and Neglect, and HHS suitability are required.
