Job description

Hilton Garden Inn is looking for a Line Cook to be responsible for preparing all hot/cold food items. Be responsible for consistency and quality production and ensure all food is served according to Brand specification.

Responsibilities

· Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per dupe from servers.

· Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to prepare over estimated needs.

· Date all food containers and rotate as per the SOP, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.

· Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set-up.

· Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.

· Assists in keeping buffet stocked.

· Return all food items not used on next shift to designate storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.

· Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems; control food waste, loss and usage per SOP.

· Assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments as required for the next shift.

Qualifications

· High School diploma or equivalent.

· Prior kitchen experience preferred.

· Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks.

· Attention to cleanliness and safety.

· Must be fluent in English.

Physical Requirements

· Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.

· Ability to operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, flat top grill.

· Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

· Ability to stand during the entire 8 hour shift.
