The Line Cook will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events. The role involves producing small to large batch goods using classical cooking techniques.

Responsible for food preparation for residents in a Senior Living / Healthcare environment, following standardized recipes to ensure quality and consistency. Maintain high sanitation standards in accordance with organizational, federal, state, and local regulations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Food preparation

  • Prepare and cook foods to order, including operating kitchen equipment and preparing ingredients.
  • Follow recipes and food safety guidelines, including allergen and foodborne illness training.
  • Assist with inventory management and accommodate special diets.

Cleaning, Storage, and Sanitation

  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment, properly store and label food items.

Safety and Risk Management

  • Adhere to safety policies, participate in safety training and hazard assessments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Current Food Handler’s Permit and state sanitation certificate required.
  • 3-4 years of related food service experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Extensive kitchen and food preparation knowledge.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to read and follow instructions and recipes.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and react calmly in emergencies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform physical activities like bending, reaching, and climbing.

Compensation Range: $17.26 - $20.72
