The Line Cook will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for various meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events. The role involves producing small to large batch goods using advanced and classical cooking techniques.

Responsibilities include food preparation for residents in a Senior Living / Healthcare environment, following standardized recipes to ensure proper quantities and high quality, and maintaining sanitation standards in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and cook foods according to order, including operating kitchen equipment.
• Follow recipes and safety guidelines to ensure high-quality and safe food service.
• Attend training on food safety and sanitation, and ensure compliance.
• Handle inventory, supplies, and special diets as needed.
• Plate food with attention to appearance and garnish.

Cleaning, Storage, and Sanitation:

• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment, follow proper storage procedures.

Safety and Risk Management:

• Adhere to safety policies, participate in safety training, and report hazards.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma required.
• Current Food Handler’s Permit required; Servsafe training and sanitation certification preferred.
• 3-4 years of related food service experience desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Extensive kitchen and food preparation knowledge.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to follow recipes and safety practices independently.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

Compensation Range:

$17.26 - $20.72
