Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Cook in the United States to prepare, portion, cook and present hot and cold items for meals and events in line with culinary standards for quality, presentation and sanitation. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, keep a clean workstation, and support the team in delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 0–2 years’ experience, ability to read recipes, and knowledge of basic food-handling procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current standards, guidelines, and regulations.
• Follow basic recipes and product directions for preparing and serving foods.
• Estimate food requirements and check production to plan production and requisition supplies.
• Significant walking or other means of mobility.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 35 pounds frequently.
