Job summary

PJW Restaurant Group is seeking a Line Cook at PJ Whelihan's Pike Creek in Wilmington, DE. You will prepare items by broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing while keeping a clean, sanitary workstation that meets all standards.

Walk-ins are welcome; interviews begin 7/13, Monday to Friday, 10AM–6PM, at the second floor entrance between Goldfish Swim School and H&R Block. This high-volume, guest-focused environment offers growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Stand for long periods (up to 9 hours).

Responsibilities

• Prepare items by broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other methods.
• Follow plate presentation and garnish setup.
• Know and comply with standard portion sizes and kitchen rules.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and equipment.
• Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food at line stations.
• Portion food products prior to cooking according to recipe specs.
• Assume responsibility for quality of products served.
• Assist in food prep during off-peak periods.
• Close the kitchen properly and follow closing checklists.
• Attend scheduled meetings and offer improvement suggestions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
