Job summary

Mount Airy Casino Resort is seeking a kitchen associate to prepare recipes for hot and cold items and assist in all kitchen activities. You will ensure uniform, timely service of orders while maintaining sanitation and portion control.

The role supports cooks during peak periods and coordinates with multiple departments to ensure guest satisfaction. The position requires basic math, reading and writing skills, and may require alcohol awareness certification or health/food handler cards.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Six months of food preparation experience preferred.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card may be required by local or state authorities.
• May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recipes and hot and cold food items according to portion and quality standards.
• Ensure each order sent out is uniform and served in a timely manner.
• Maintain sanitation, proper cooking methods, times and temperatures; proper storage of foods and leftovers.
• Assist cooks and stewards during peak activity periods and report equipment issues.
