Job summary

Native Village of Eklutna/Chin’an Gaming Hall in Alaska is seeking a Line Cook to prepare meals following established recipes and portion standards. You will contribute to a clean, safe kitchen and deliver consistent presentation to enhance guest dining experiences.

The role requires proven line cook experience, strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety, and the ability to work quickly in a busy, 24/7 environment, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and able to obtain a Food Handlers card.
• Proven experience as a line cook with knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety.
• Experience operating and maintaining kitchen equipment (grills, ovens, broilers, fryers).
• Strong time management, attention to detail, and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and food safety.
• Set up, stock, and maintain stations; complete prep work and rotation.
• Ensure dishes meet quality standards for taste, appearance, and portion size.
• Handle special requests and dietary restrictions safely.
• Monitor temperatures, thawing/cooling, and maintain a sanitized workspace.
• Track food waste and assist with basic inventory and shortages.
• Communicate with kitchen team to maintain smooth order flow.
• Perform general cleaning and other duties as assigned.
