Line Cook - Donald L. Tucker Civic Center at Florida State University

Join us as a Line Cook - Donald L. Tucker Civic Center at Florida State University with Oak View Group.

This role offers a pay range of $14.00/hr to $16.00/hr, depending on skills and experience. Oak View Group is a global leader in venue development, management, and hospitality services for live events, working with top arenas, convention centers, festivals, and cultural institutions worldwide.

Position Summary

As a Line Cook/Prep Cook, you will prepare foods for guests across various venues, including buffet lines, serving stations, and suites during concerts and events. You will work closely with seasoned chefs and must be available to work scheduled events, maintaining excellent attendance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, fresh food promptly for guests.
  • Prepare hot and cold foods according to recipes and portioning standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent service and product delivery.
  • Report any kitchen equipment maintenance needs.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards.
  • Monitor food cooking processes to ensure quality.
  • Portion, arrange, and garnish food on plates for delivery.
  • Consult with chefs to plan menus and estimate food needs.
  • Maintain excellent attendance standards.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a cook or prep cook.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, steamers, convection ovens, mixers, meat slicers, and knives.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Valid food handling certification as required by regulations.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
