Line Cook – Fry, Grill, Sauté, Steam, Taco

The Torchy's legacy began in Austin, Texas in 2006 with an idea, a dedicated executive chef, and a food trailer. Today, it operates in multiple states.

We need:

Line Cooks are the heart of the kitchen, where our Damn Good food is made from scratch daily. In a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant, you will be responsible for:

  • Fry Cook: Master the fry station, ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor.
  • Grill Cook: Operate the grill station, cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled perfectly.
  • Saute Cook: Manage the sauté station, handling various ingredients to create flavorful, well-cooked dishes.
  • Steam Cook: Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming, maintaining proper texture and flavor.
  • Taco Assembly: Assemble and build each taco to order, meeting our high standards and guest expectations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Cooking & Prep: Prepare and cook ingredients on various stations according to Torchy's recipes and standards.
  • Quality Control: Monitor dish quality and presentation, ensuring standards are met before serving.
  • Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain a clean, organized work station, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure timely and correct food preparation.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with stocking and organizing ingredients.
  • Efficiency: Operate with urgency during busy times while maintaining quality.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience preferred but not required.
  • Flexible schedule based on restaurant needs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to have fun!
