Position Description: The Line Cook works with the Executive and Sous Chefs to ensure the highest quality food is prepared and cooked for customers and guests. The right candidate will prepare and cook a variety of food products according to the business's standard recipes in a timely and efficient manner for event guests and restaurant customers. This person will assist with all daily tasks in the kitchen and plays a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.

Performance Standards And Responsibilities

  • Stocking and setting up stations with all necessary supplies.
  • Preparing food for service.
  • Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
  • Answering, reporting, and following all operational instructions.
  • Keeping all workstations and kitchen storage/supply areas clean.
  • Properly sealing, storing, or discarding all leftover or excess food.
  • Ensuring food is made and delivered simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Assist with washing dishes at the end of shifts as required.
  • Other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Prior kitchen and cooking experience, including experience as a line or prep cook. (required)
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • ServSafe Certification (preferred), or willing to complete within 30 days of hire.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • The ability to multi-task and work together as a team, as well as independently.
  • Reliable transportation with the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and conscientious.
  • Familiar with industry's best practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Speech, visual, and hearing ability sufficient to express and comprehend written and verbal communication.
  • Exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk around for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift (up to) 50 pounds.

Competitive Salary [This position is a non-exempt position with a min-max rate of: $18-$23.40/hour] with:
