Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Line Cook / BBQ Pitmaster to deliver fast, fresh, and friendly service in a busy kitchen. You will prep ingredients, follow recipes and SOPs, and plate ready-to-serve items while maintaining sanitation standards.

The role requires 1+ year of commercial foodservice experience, culinary certification or equivalent training, and strong knowledge of nutrition, safety, and fast-paced operations. Comfortable with high-volume production and cross-venue support is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Culinary certification or equivalent culinary training/work experience required.
• 1+ year of experience in commercial foodservice required.
• Experience in food preparation and with kitchen equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, and plate food per SOPs and recipes.
• Prepack condiments for prepared foods and manage daily production.
• Maintain strict sanitation and temperature controls throughout prep and service.
• Assist in multiple cooking venues and with catering orders as needed.
• Provide fast, accurate, and friendly customer service.
• Perform duties as assigned and adhere to safety standards.
