Position Overview

The Line Cook is responsible for ensuring that timely, safe, food is produced using the current recipe and guest requests for quality results.

Essential Job Functions

The Line Cook must have knowledge of food preparation techniques and be able to produce hot and cold food items using current approved recipes meeting standards. This includes handling food from raw to final plating, following food safety and sanitation practices in accordance with local health regulations and company policies. Responsibilities also include proper use of utensils and equipment, food storage, labeling, and maintaining clean work areas. The Line Cook will work with team members of varying skill levels and must collaborate effectively to ensure successful kitchen operations, including cleaning and preparing the kitchen for future use.

Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid Pima County Food Handler Card on file and in possession during shifts
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to recipes
  • Ability to understand and follow specific recipe instructions
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Complete all pre-employment forms, pass background check and math assessment involving US monetary units
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Other Skills/Abilities
  • Preferred ServSafe Certification
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
