Job summary

DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS in Lawton/Ft. Sill Veterans Home is seeking a Line Cook to deliver high-quality meals for veterans, including therapeutic diets, while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

You will ensure meals meet taste and presentation expectations and comply with OSDH and USDVA regulations. The role requires strong cooking skills in a healthcare or high-volume setting, a HS diploma, and ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Food Safety: ServSafe Food Handler certification.
• Experience: 2+ years cooking in healthcare or high-volume settings.
• Knowledge: IDDSI texture-modified diets and CMS/OSDH regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals with high-quality taste and plating to meet therapeutic diets and standard menus.
• Maintain safety, sanitation, and temperature controls per USDVA, CMS and OSDH standards.
• Coordinate with Dietary Manager and nursing staff to accommodate dietary orders and ensure on-time service.
