Responsible for maintaining, setting up, food production, and quality control of all meat, fish, fowl, and other food items prepared on the front-line station.
Essential Job Functions

- Prepare daily preparation lists for production.
- Read and follow recipes, utilizing math skills.
- Prepare broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest checks, ensuring product consistency; transportation of heavy food products may be required.
- Visually inspect, select, and use only high-standard food items for all menu preparations.
- Monitor proper storage of products, control portions, and maintain quality, especially for specific cuts of meat.
- Maintain cleanliness of refrigeration, equipment, storage, and work areas to comply with health regulations.
- Keep logs related to cooling, heating, and temperature control.
- Follow all company policies, safety, and security procedures.
- Know department fire prevention and emergency protocols.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, property damage, or loss to management.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as per standards.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
- Assist other kitchen personnel as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Hold a current Food Handler Card.
- Preferably have 2 years of cooking experience, especially with broiler cooking.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Good working knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking fundamentals.
- Understanding of sanitation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.
- Basic math skills for recipes, measurements, and portioning.
- Basic English language skills for communication.
- Ability to understand and follow product labeling instructions for safety.
- Operate beverage equipment like coffee makers.
Physical Demands
- Lift or move goods weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Manual dexterity to use kitchen tools and equipment.
- Perform duties in extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
- Frequent physical movements including twisting, bending, reaching, standing, walking, and hearing.
