Job summary

Zinc Café & Market is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will work closely with other cooks to execute menu items with consistency and care, maintaining station organization and adherence to recipes and standards.

You should thrive in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively with the team, and show a willingness to learn and grow while upholding health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in a line cook position at a casual dining restaurant or similar experience.
• Must read tickets on screen.
• Food handlers certification.

Responsibilities

• Display working knowledge of all ingredients and preparation used on the menu.
• Follow company recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications.
• Maintain a fully stocked station and ensure food meets standards.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and support teamwork.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Handle varying levels of business volume with a positive attitude.
• Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.
• Follow all safety and Covid-19 guidelines.

Responsibilities:

• Display working knowledge of all ingredients and preparation used on the menu
• Follow company recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications
• Maintain a fully stocked station throughout each shift and ensure that all food meets company standards
• Consistently ensure station is clean and organized
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and embody an environment of teamwork
• Demonstrate an eagerness to refine skills and desire to learn and grow
• Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines
• Handle varying levels of business volume with composure & a positive attitude
• Perform all opening and closing duties assigned by managers
• Follow all safety and state guidelines for preventing transmission of Covid-19 and other illnesses

Work Context:

• Working with hot foods and beverages
• Walking and standing for long periods of time
• Tasks will be performed using and in the proximity of coolers, stoves, and other hot equipment
• The employee may frequently be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch for duration of shift (eight hours or longer)
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move and/or push up to 50 pounds without assistance
