Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and collaborating with team members to ensure seamless kitchen operations. Responsibilities

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Monitor food freshness and maintain consistent quality
  • Assist in receiving and storing inventory deliveries
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Assist in washing, and putting away all restaurant serveware
  • Comply with regular cleaning and maintenance duties
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Regular and consistent attendance at work

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow instructions (i.e. menus/recipes)
  • Must be able to stand 5-6 hours a day
  • Must be able to squat, reach, bend and lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Must have knowledge of food storage/handling techniques

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent required
  • Some Kitchen Line or Prep Experience desired
  • Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain one)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Preference will be given to those candidates with a post high school degree
  • Preference will be given to those candidates with a minimum of two years full-time experience in a related hospitality setting or the equivalent education and related work experience
