Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join a fast-paced team. Duties and responsibilities will include preparing high-quality dishes according to standardized recipes and instructions, keeping workstations clean and orderly, and working closely with other team members to ensure efficiency in a dynamic kitchen environment. Attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work well under pressure are essential for success in this role.

Hours

Monday-Thursday, 2:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Required Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with preparing meals for the Cafe
• Handle cash and credit transactions with customers
• Scan goods and collect payments
• Issue receipts, refunds, change, or tickets
• Redeem stamps and coupons
• Make sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introduce new ones
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
• Greet customers when entering or leaving establishments
• Maintain clean and tidy areas
• Keep reports of transactions
• Bag, box, or wrap packages
• Stock items
• Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure high satisfaction
• Assist other Cafe staff in cleanup, dishes, and next-day preparations
• Adherence to all Dixie Tech Policies and Procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements And Qualifications

• Proven working experience as a retail cashier or sales position preferred
• Basic familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g., cash register, scanners, money counters, etc.)

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
