Job summary

PENN Entertainment is hiring a Line Cook for Hollywood Casino & Hotel. The role offers day-to-day kitchen work, with pay of $18.00 per hour and shifts that vary.

Initial placement within the salary range is based on knowledge, skills, and experience, with a broad Total Rewards package including benefits from day one. The position requires at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 3 years of related kitchen experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word).
• Must read/write English and have good verbal communication.
• Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, fractions, decimals, percentages).
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Must be able to obtain ServSafe certification.
• Physical mobility: lift up to 25 lbs, and ability to push/pull/carry, etc.

Responsibilities

• Report to Sous Chef at start of shift to receive instruction.
• Supervises and directs line staff in absence of Sous Chef.
• Prepares recipe per standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Prepares plate menu items, as ordered, per specifications on hot food production line with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
• Assists in other areas of kitchen as instructed by Sous Chef.
• At completion of service, stores perishable foods properly.
• Cleans station and follows closing instructions.
• Leads completion of daily tasks within the department.

As a Line Cook, you will:

• Supervises and directs line staff in absence of Sous Chef. Prepares recipe per standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Prepares plate menu items, as ordered, per specifications on hot food production line with strict attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. s.
• Assists in other areas of kitchen as instructed by Sous Chef.
• At completion of service, puts all perishable foods in covered containers and refrigerates.
• Cleans station and reports to Sous Chef for closing instructions.
• Leads completion of daily tasks within the department or work unit.

Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word).
• Must be able to read and write in English and have good verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Must be able to obtain ServSafe.
• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
