Summary:
The Cook is a vital part of the restaurant operations. The Cook adheres to the Company’s recipes, portions, cooking methods, policies and procedures. The Cook will anticipate and exceed expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains a welcoming and position and professional approach with coworkers.
- Practices Company food quality principles.
- Cooks various foods in accordance with Company recipes, policies, and procedures.
- Ensures that food orders leave the kitchen simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
- Sets up and maintains sufficient level of products at workstation.
- Stocks inventory and stores and rotates food products and ingredients properly.
- Complies with food safety and sanitation standards and maintains sanitary and safe work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Ability to speak, write and understand simple instructions in English.
- Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
- Must have a Food Handler Certificate.
- Prior food service industry experience is helpful, but not required.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
- Must be a team player and customer-service oriented.
Physical Requirements:
- Stands and walks on uneven, slippery, and/or wet surface for at least 8 consecutive hours.
- Speaks and listens in-person to staff regarding food and safety matters for at least 8 consecutive hours.
- Reads food safety measuring devices.
- Routinely lifts, stoops, kneels, bends, pushes, and pulls up to 50 pounds, and reaches overhead.
- Routinely carries full-service tray.
- Cuts, measures, and mixes food items in a wet environment.
- Performs moderately strenuous activity for at least 8 consecutive hours.
- Performs other physical requirements necessary to perform duties and responsibilities.
Working Environment:
- Moderate noise, fast pace, high traffic, high temperatures and ability to tolerate cleaning solutions.
