Job summary

Zinc Café & Market in Laguna Beach, CA is seeking a Line Cook to join a fast-paced kitchen and partner with the team to deliver high-quality dishes. You will follow recipes, maintain your station, and ensure guests receive consistently prepared meals.

We're looking for at least 1 year of line cook experience in casual dining, strong communication, and the ability to read tickets. We offer competitive wages, tips, and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in a line cook position at a casual dining restaurant or similar experience.
• Must be able to read tickets on screen.
• Food handlers certification.
• Work in a team and in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Display working knowledge of all ingredients and preparation used on the menu.
• Follow company recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications.
• Maintain a fully stocked station throughout each shift and ensure that all food meets company standards.
• Consistently ensure station is clean and organized.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and embody an environment of teamwork.
• Demonstrate an eagerness to refine skills and desire to learn and grow.
• Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Handle varying levels of business volume with a positive attitude.
• Perform opening and closing duties assigned by managers.
• Follow all safety guidelines to prevent transmission of illnesses.

Work Context:

• Working with hot foods and beverages
• Walking and standing for long periods of time
• Tasks will be performed using and in the proximity of coolers, stoves, and other hot equipment
• The employee may frequently be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch for duration of shift (eight hours or longer)
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move and/or push up to 50 pounds without assistance
