Mambo Seafood is a high-volume iconic Houston restaurant brand that has been in business since 1996. Mambo has 12 restaurants in the Greater Houston area, 3 locations in San Antonio, and one franchised operation in the Rio Grande Valley. Mambo Seafood is poised for rapid growth!

Summary:
The Cook is a vital part of the restaurant operations. The Cook adheres to the Company’s recipes, portions, cooking methods, policies and procedures. The Cook will anticipate and exceed expectations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Maintains a welcoming and professional approach with coworkers.
  2. Practices Company food quality principles.
  3. Cooks various foods in accordance with Company recipes, policies, and procedures.
  4. Ensures that food orders leave the kitchen simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
  5. Sets up and maintains sufficient level of products at workstation.
  6. Stocks inventory and stores and rotates food products and ingredients properly.
  7. Complies with food safety and sanitation standards and maintains sanitary and safe work area.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  2. Must be at least 17 years of age.
  3. Ability to speak, write and understand simple instructions in English.
  4. Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required.
  5. Must have a Food Handler Certificate.
  6. Prior food service industry experience is helpful, but not required.
  7. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
  8. Must be a team player and customer-service oriented.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
  1. Basic personal computer skills are a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  1. Stands and walks on uneven, slippery, and/or wet surfaces for at least 8 consecutive hours.
  2. Speaks and listens in-person to staff regarding food and safety matters for at least 8 consecutive hours.
  3. Reads food safety measuring devices.
  4. Routinely lifts, stoops, kneels, bends, pushes, and pulls up to 50 pounds, and reaches overhead.
  5. Routinely carries a full-service tray.
  6. Cuts, measures, and mixes food items in a wet environment.
  7. Performs moderately strenuous activity for at least 8 consecutive hours.
  8. Performs other physical requirements necessary to perform duties and responsibilities.
Working Environment:
  1. Moderate noise, fast pace, high traffic, high temperatures, and ability to tolerate cleaning solutions.
