S&L Hospitality is seeking a (Line and Prep) Cook to join our kitchen team. The role requires adherence to menu specifications and strict food health and safety procedures, with independence, motivation, and attention to detail valued.

Ideal candidates have prior heart‑of‑house experience, prep and line cook background, and must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 70 lbs occasionally, and communicate effectively in English. Flexible scheduling is available.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality or food service experience is preferred.
• Must be able to push/pull/bend/lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 70 lbs, and frequently 15 lbs.
• Must be at least 18 years of age, or minimum age to work in a kitchen environment in accordance with state/local laws.
• Flexible schedule to meet business needs.
• Detail‑oriented individual who is able to focus on maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Ability to communicate verbally and written in English.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and frequent repetitive motions.
• Must have the ability to grasp and hold knives, utensils, and equipment with proper hand positioning; feel temperature and texture of ingredients; and maintain sensitivity to weight, balance, and surface conditions during prep and service.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and necessary equipment.
• Prepare ingredients utilizing proper techniques and utensils.
• Ensure proper plate presentation and orders will meet the guest’s expectations.
• Follow and practice food health and safety policies and procedures.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly workstation, environment in the kitchen.
• Check quality of ingredients, restock and replenish station as necessary.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience in the heart of house, preferably previous prep and line cook experience, be able to work independently, self‑motivated, detail oriented, passionate about food, and available during the operational hours of the restaurant.
