Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team. This role focuses on preparing and producing food orders to high quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary kitchen environment.

The Cook will deliver engaging guest service and work across multiple stations, including broiler and sauté, ensuring recipes are followed and guest needs are anticipated. This is a hands-on, full-time position at our property.

Qualifications

• Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience.
• Clear communication with guests and colleagues for safe, smooth service.
• Attention to detail in food preparation and plate presentation.
• Banquet/catering and high-volume experience preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team during busy service periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain setup and production of meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks and seasonings across stations.
• Prepare hot items per recipes to ensure consistent quality for each guest order.
• Visually inspect ingredients and select items suitable for sautéing and cooking.
• Fill daily production charts and keep areas clean to health standards.
• Read and follow Use Record Specifications; perform required math for recipes.
• Stand for long periods and lift/move products as needed.
• Deliver passionate, engaging service and greet guests warmly using the GUEST model.
• Build solid relationships with colleagues and assist in other hotel areas as needed.

The role's primary responsibility is to prepare and produce food orders according to quality standards. The Cook shall maintain a safe work environment and follow established sanitation and safety standards.

What you'll be doing

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:

• Operational/Functional
  • Responsible for maintaining, setting up, food production and quality control of all meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks, seasonings, and other food items prepared in the broiler and sauté stations, as well as the grill and other stations as needed.
  • Prepares all hot food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check to ensure consistency of product to the guest.
  • Visually inspects, selects and uses only food items ideal for sautéing, in the preparation of all menu items.
• Strategy and Planning
  • Ensures daily production chart is properly filled out to standards.
  • Keep all refrigeration, storage and working areas in clean, working condition to comply with Health Department regulations.
  • Ability to read and perform Use Record Specifications.
  • Ensure all equipment in working areas is clean and in proper working condition.
  • Reads and employs math skills to appropriately prepare items according to recipes.
  • Requires stamina for standing and strength for lifting and moving products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information

Pay Range: $27.09 - $30.10 - Pay rate outlined follows contract requirements.
